Education Business Partnership (EBP)
The North Tyneside EBP has been forging links between business and local schools for more than 16 years. We facilitate a range of activities and events to develop the employability skills, knowledge and attributes needed by our young people for successful progression from school to the world of work. Businesses who take part tell us how they themselves have benefited from their involvement.
What's in it for you?:
- Students can provide your company and employees with new ideas and a perspective of your work.
- Participation can provide staff development and tailored training opportunities.
- Involvement can assist with your staff recruitment.
- Your company may become known by other businesses, teachers, students, parents and other organisations..
- Supporting education can help your organisation to achieve its corporate social responsibilities
Here are some comments from recent participants:
Nicola Jones – Tesco Bank
"Working with young people to improve their confidence and self-esteem is an integral part of developing positive communication skills, which to be honest, are crucial in today’s job market no matter which career they choose"
Year 11 Student
"It's great meeting loads of people from so many different jobs. I didn’t know that half of them existed and how I’m definitely interested in finding out more. It’s really made me think about what I want to do with my life"
Susie La Rosa – Benton Dene School
"The trip was a fantastic opportunity for the students to find out about careers in language and linked in well with our Career Aspirations Week. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of the Businesses Ambassadors on the day"
Pam Tatters – Whitley Bay High School
"Every Year the event gets better and better due to the Business Ambassadors that take part. They guide us in the right direction and give us valuable feedback to make sure our students get the best possible learning experience possible"
There are many ways to get involved with education through a range of activities, from one hour sessions in schools to longer extended projects
