Bridgeworks at Silverlink

For businesses in the Silverlink and Cobalt areas, we’ve received advance notification of work starting on two bridges at Middle Engine Lane, near the Silverlink Interchange
The works will involve strengthening the supports of two bridges carrying the A19; Middle Lane Railway Bridge and Middle Lane Engine Bridge.

The work is due to start towards the end of November 2011 and expected to take 14 weeks. The work will be carried out mostly during day time hours, Monday – Saturday, but there will be some night time working.

During this time it will be necessary to implement lane closures on Middle Engine Lane which will be in place for 24 hours a day when required and traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic lights.

Work on Middle Engine Railway Bridge will affect the bridleway, running below the bridge, but this will remain open to users at all times.

The work on the A19 will be carried out over night, using lane closures with occasional carriageway closures. Fully signed diversion routes will be in place when carriageways are closed.

Every effort is being made to ensure disruption to traffic and residents is kept to a minimum, but there will inevitably be some noise, delay and disruption generated by these works. Traffic management arrangements on the A19 and on Middle Engine Lane will be lifted over the Christmas period.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of the scheme, or would like further information please contact Becca Rigney, Area 14, 01325 341658 or email Rebecca.rigney@aone.uk.com
